Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Bernhard Muller

Senior Professor at TU Dresden

Since July 2019, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Bernhard Müller is a senior professor at TU Dresden. The senior professorship is part of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. Until June 2019, Prof. Müller was professor and chair holder of the Chair of Spatial Development at TU Dresden. Simultaneously, he was the Director of the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER) from 1997 until June 2019. Prof. Müller was a vice president of the Leibniz Association and the initiator and (co-) founder of the Dresden Leibniz Graduate School (DLGS). 
He is member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech), the Saxon Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Leipzig (SAW), the Academy for Spatial Development in the Leibniz Association (ARL) and an international member of the Serbian Academy for Engineering Sciences.
Bernhard Müller and his team worked in a variety of research projects during the past years, mostly connected to his function as the Director of IOER. Currently, the senior professorship carries out research work in a large international research and innovation action project funded by the European Union (TRANS-URBAN-EU-CHINA) where Bernhard Müller is at the same time the project director. Moreover, there are also other mainly international research activities, carried out by the team members of the senior professorship.
